What the posts had to do

Treatment is a sensitive subject, and the posts avoid promises about results. They aim to be supportive and informative: to lower the barrier to asking for help, to explain mental health in plain language, and to show the people behind the service. This page describes the design only and makes no claim about treatment outcomes.

The design

Calm colour carries the tone. Light sky blue is the main background, with soft sunset gradients, mountains, water and palm trees for the more reflective posts. The logo, a small palm tree above the name Kemah Palms Recovery and the words Alcohol and Drug Treatment, sits at the top, and the footer holds the website address, social icons and a phone number.

Most posts are short statements set large, for example "Rebuild from the inside out", "It's okay to go to therapy", "You are stronger than your struggles" and "You are not broken, you're rebuilding". A second group uses quotations from writers and leaders, each credited on the post. The graphics are metaphors rather than stock smiles: a suspension bridge, an iceberg, a staircase and a trophy, a silhouette filled with a landscape.

Three posts are informative. One infographic explains that mental health is not the same as mental illness in six short points, two posts carry a Mental Health Awareness Month tag, and one introduces programs for veterans with a link to the blog on the website. Another post, "Meet the heart behind the healing", is a collage of team portraits with hand-drawn stickers.
